Seven Freckels
Karoline and Robby experience first love in a GDR holiday camp. The daily routine is strictly regulated, but they find the freedom they need during play rehearsals. The film approaches the longings and problems of youth, away from political reality
Karoline and Robby experience first love at a holiday camp somewhere in the GDR provinces. Years ago they were in the same school class, but then lost sight of each other. In the strictly regulated camp life there is little space for recreation and the true interests of the children, who are actually no longer children. Their counsellor Benedikt tries to inspire the young people to stage Romeo and Juliet. During the rehearsals, Karoline and Robby grow closer. A mutual passion is ignited and must prevail against all odds, setbacks and intrigues. At the time, SIEBEN SOMMERSPROSSEN was recognised for its negotiation of actual problems and longings of teens. The film dares to turn away from the politicisation of everyday life in the GDR and reacts to the real joys and hardships of young people.
